Porcelain gaiwan made by ceramic artist Zsuzsanna Sinkovits, fired at 1250 degrees. Glazed from the inside to the outer lip, unglazed on the outside. Polished finish gives it a silky touch and matte surface. The lid and saucer are fully glazed. Dishwasher-safe.
The gaiwan is a tool used in traditional Chinese tea making. It consists of 3 parts: a saucer, a pot and a lid. The 3 parts are usually used simultaneously, where the saucer is held by the fingers of the right hand, while the thumb holds the pot. The left hand holds the lid, which should be tilted slightly to strain the tea and serve.
Volume: ~200 ml
Weight: ~150 g
Height: 75 mm
Diameter: 85 mm
